REGIONAL PRIORITY PROJECTS RANKING

Projects supported and work performed by the NCWEDD must:

  • Analyze local economic conditions;

  • Define regional economic development goals;

  • Determine economic development opportunities; and/or

    Formulate and/or implement an economic development program in the region.

Ranking Process Overview

The NCWEDD has a mission to promote the development and diversification of economic opportunities in the region. Projects supported and work performed by the EDD must:

  • Analyze local economic conditions;

  • Define regional economic development goals;

  • Determine economic development opportunities; and/or

    Formulate and/or implement an economic development program in the region.

The North Central Washington Economic Development District annually ranks regional projects of economic significance. The rankings are determined by a regional NCWEDD Committee of individuals representing organizations, City and County officials from Chelan, Douglas, Okanogan Counties and the Colville Confederated Tribes who reviewed and evaluated the submitted applications. The committee ranks projects based on a number of established criteria, including measurable regional economic benefits, measurable community benefits, fully developed plan and strategy, alignment with NCWEDD goals and objectives, and local and regional support.

The committee ranking recommendation is presented to the NCWEDD board, which votes on the final ranking. NCWEDD resources including letters of support, fund sourcing, and project facilitation are allocated to ranked projects.

To date, the North Central Washington Economic Development District has secured over $2 million in grant and low-interest loan funding for a variety of projects in Chelan, Douglas and Okanogan Counties, and the Colville Confederated Tribesthrough this process.
