Supernova Business Launch Competition

The goal of the Supernova Business Launch Competition is to grow small businesses in North Central Washington.

North Central Washington Economic Development District (NCWEDD) is proud to present, “Supernova”, a business launch competition that will identify and support new and growing businesses that seek to locate in our region, with regional support from community members, funders, and professional services providers. The competition will encompass the NCW region which includes four counties (Chelan, Douglas, Okanogan, and Ferry), as well as the Colville Confederated Tribes.


The competition will be open for applications from February 1, 2021, until June 1, 2021. All entries must be electronically submitted no later than 5:00 PM, PST, on Monday, the 1st of June 2021. The winner will be announced on Thursday, August 19th, 2021, at a TBD location or virtual event.

The winning small business or individual will receive $10,000, which will be disbursed by the Supernova Business Launch Competition Planning Committee, as noted in the Winner’s Agreement form.

Entrepreneurs interested in opening a viable and sustainable business, or a small business looking to expand in North Central Washington, are encouraged to submit business plans in any field, including;

services, manufacturing, distribution, health care, internet, customer products, retail, technology, agriculture and other fields of commercial endeavor.

Community Organization and Chamber partners can contribute to the success of this regional effort by participating in Stage One applicant Q&A sessions, workshops, and vetting, and/or by sponsoring Supernova. The NCWEDD will supply your organization with solid leads, including all the vetted semi-finalists business plans. These leads will help you identify vetted ideas and entrepreneurs committed to launching successful small businesses in North Central Washington.
